Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh appoints Michele Fabrizi as new Board Chair
She joined MARC USA in 1982, and in 2003, was named President and CEO of the nationwide advertising division, the post she holds today.
PITTSBURGH, PA.- Michele Fabrizi has been named the new board chair at The Andy Warhol Museum. Fabrizi’s responsibilities will include working with the board to develop the mission and strategy of the museum, and recommend an operating budget. Fabrizi will oversee the board in developing new programs, raising funds, and establishing committees to carry out the work of the board. In addition, Fabrizi will evaluate members of the museum’s board, advise the museum director, and make recommendations for the appointment of individuals to the museum board. Fabrizi now also serves as a trustee of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and a member of its Executive Committee.

“I’ve always been a fan of Andy Warhol – he was such an original, a game-changer and that’s the appeal to me. Beyond my admiration for Warhol and his art, having this iconic museum in Pittsburgh is very important to me. It’s another way to show the world that we’re a place of innovation – one that has influenced the world – that we are really a region of game changers,” Fabrizi stated.

Fabrizi received a B.S. in Communications from Carlow University. She joined MARC USA in 1982, and in 2003, was named President and CEO of the nationwide advertising division, the post she holds today. Prior to this, as President and Chief Executive Officer of MARC USA’s Pittsburgh headquarters, she oversaw unprecedented growth of the company. Her honors include Adweek magazine Outstanding Woman in Advertising, Pennsylvania Department of Commerce Fifty Best Women in Business, Carlow University Woman of Spirit, Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce Athena Award, YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh Tribute to Women - Communications and Girl Scouts of SW Pennsylvania Woman of Distinction.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michele Fabrizi as board chair to The Warhol. As a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman, and as a philanthropist and supporter of the arts, Michele is a regional powerhouse. With her guidance, I know that she will help us take the museum in new and exciting directions,” stated Eric C. Shiner, director of The Warhol.

Fabrizi’s appointment as board chair was effective on June 29, 2012. She replaced former board chair Randall S. Dearth, who will remain on The Warhol board.
